Crooken Sands

An English merchant takes his family on a Scottish vacation, where he becomes fascinated with the traditional Highland chiefs’ attire. He commissions a similar outfit for himself before departing London. Upon arrival, he encounters a mysterious and eerie atmosphere, which culminates in a terrifying experience. The story explores themes of vanity, mortality, and the supernatural, characteristic of Stoker’s horror style.
